This book is a collection of black and white sketches which Wanda Norstrom (1912-1972) executed in pencil, charcoal and pen& ink during her 1937 solo trip to west Africa. Short excerpts from her diary inform the reader about her fascinating interactions with the people, flora and fauna that she encounters. Wanda Norstrom's work has been featured in several exhibitions at Mathias Fine Art and is included in the collection of the Portland Museum of Art, ME, the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Swedish Historical Museum among others.
This volume was compiled and edited by Georgiana Peacher who also contributed a foreword and afterword. 112pp.
