The current exhibition Culver at al is a celebration of Michael Culver’s dynamic paintings and his latest achievement: the publication of the fascinating new book Sparring in the Dark – The Art and Life of Maine Painter Henry Strater.  The talk by Cordula Mathias is in form of a walk-through where Culver’s work is compared to the other ten artists and where we consider different media and approaches. Questions and comments are welcome.  The event is free and open to the public.

6/27 Gallery Talk 2- 3pm

Cordula Mathias will present a gallery talk about TREES an exhibition dwelling on the essence of trees as perceived by an exceptionally talented group of artists: Chris Alexander, Martha Bartsch, Max Bartsch, Brenda Bettinson, Kimberly Callas, Michael Culver, Paul Feyling, Patt Franklin, Brigitte Keller, John Lorence and Lesia Sochor.  A Q&A will conclude the free event.

Genetta McLean’s Approach

A gallery talk by Cordula Mathias is scheduled in connection with Genetta McLean’s solo exhibition Abundance (Xenia). The talk will explore McLean’s approach to her subject matter. Questions from the audience are welcome.

The event is free and suitable for visitors in any age bracket.

BOOK TALK

Peter Felsenthal is the invited speaker on July 20th at 2pm. He will talk about his award-winning book “New Growth” which celebrates organic farming in Maine. Peter will be happy to sign and personalize copies at this event which coincides with Genetta Mclean’s exhibition of new still lifes.
